In 2001, Arjun Gupta

National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship
The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship NFTE, which is also referred to as Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, helps young people from low-income communities build skills and unlock their entrepreneurial creativity. Since 1987, NFTE has reached over 186,000 young people, and currently has programs in 21 states and 13 countries outside the U.S. NFTE has more than 1,000 active Certified Entrepreneurship Teachers, and is continually improving its innovative entrepreneurship curriculum.
Peninsula Habitat for Humanity
Peninsula Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International that partners with families in need, along with community volunteers and donors, to build affordable ownership homes on the Peninsula. Our homes allow families working in service, manufacturing, retail and other sectors to live near their jobs in decent, safe, permanent homes. In 19 years, we have built more than 100 homes throughout San Mateo County. Currently we are building four homes in South San Francisco, and will begin another eight-home project in Redwood City in early 2008.

Samaritan House is a non-profit health and human services agency with over 30 years of experience in providing a broad range of services and resources to low-income residents in San Mateo County. Services include case management, clothing, medical care, food, shelter, employment assistance, and food and toys for the holidays. All services are provided free of charge to low-income families.
